A very clean example of a WWII German Army Model 1942 steel helmet with its original paintwork intact and in near mint condition. The helmet is stamped in the inside rear skirt hkp66 and 3594 denoting the maker as Sachsische Emaillier ind Stauzwerke of Lauter. The liner band has the RBNr 0/0251/0111 and is dated 1944, this is for Metal-Lederverbeitung Werner Zahn in Berlin. The leather liner is unworn and stamped 58 on outside and 59 RBNr 0/0250/117 on the inside..
The leather chinstrap is a variant of the standard type, but is rivetted and came with helmet. The straps are certainly period mounted but are riveted on.
