3 x WW2 German Soldiers Labour Pioneers Original Photographs + 1 Book Plate #G3
This is a group of 4 photographs related to WWII. These are all of German military men dated in the early 1940s. These have been removed from a scrapbook or photo album by the looks of things.
All random of different people from different photographers etc. The photo of the line of soldiers with their rifles is a PRINT from a book...It has printed wording on the back so this is NOT an original photograph. The small one of the soldier stood on his own with his rifle is a postcard photo. Then the square photograph shows soldiers digging a pit at the side of a road and braying in wooden posts erecting a sunken building maybe, 2 vehicles are near it and a building or two in the back ground..
The pencil wording on the back says R. Labour Service and other foreign wording I cannot read. This photo is crinkled and creased. The largest photograph shows activity of building a bridge from sections and they are on low floating boats, more can be seen in the distance. They are just throwing the ropes to the nearest one to join the pontoon bridge together.
The back says in pencil PIONEERS and a date 2002 when the last collector bought the photo I would imagine. In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. They are worn on the edges and corners. The square busy building photo is creased at the edges and has some small tears. Please see pictures for more details.They measure between 11 and 1/4 inches x 9 inches - 5 and 1/2 inches x 3 and 1/2 inches. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter.
