Early WW2 German Luftwaffe Leather Flight Jacket Fliegerjacke 1937 Original

Authentic "1937" 4-Pocket Luftwaffe flight jacket. This is a very hard to find real and authentic fighter pilot jacket in a rare bigger size. Its made of leather which showes suffs, wear to expected areas. There is crackling to the leather at the lower rim and on the end of the cuffs of the jacket. Is a result of narrow cockpits.

The inner tag label has been removed due to bomb raids to fabrics that quoted their loction (Adresses) in those tags. The inner lining is original to this flight jacket and its made of velveteen. This particular 4-zippered pocket flight jacket was not so common as the later. Seen (1940) Hartmann flight jacket.

Therefore its an very early type - often used in early Luftwaffe missions - for example the Legion Condor. As you see the flight jacket has 7 Zippers. Are made of brass except the main one - its a zipper which has teeth made of solid nickel. The well known drop shaped 1937 Zipper with the square bar and Zipp logo is seldom nowadays and hard to find. The zippers indicate the age of this flight jacket as well as the 4-pocket style and minifacture.

All Zippers work well with no issues. The main zipper has the D. Later zippers (After WWII the inprint was DBP - for Deutsdches Bundes Patent - not "Reich" -"Rich" anymore) and the City Nürnberg as inscription was completely missing. The drop shaped zippers with the square bar were also seen on early WWII Luftwaffe flight boots with double zippered shaft. After WWII the drop shaped zipper with the square bar was not in production anymore.

The pullers are ideal for grabbing them with flight gloves. The shoulder loops are present and tight.

The former stich marks from the former 16mm shoulder buttons are still present. The back construction of this fantastic flight jacket has a nice art-deco style - which makes this particular flight jacket. The size of this flight jacket is around 42 R - according to vintage A-2 flight jackets. Shoulder: 19.3 inch /49 cm.

Arm length: 24.8 inch/ 63 cm. Chest (pit to pit): 22.5 inch / 57 cm. Back length: 25.6 inch / 65 cm.
