German holster for Walther PPk pistols of Zella-Mehlis production pre 1945 origin. Made of black cowhide for use at the RSHA (SS) police department. Holster is not showing any prohibited insignia. The contract pistols are highly sought after by collectors.
See the reference book by Steven J. Such holsters are in general made of black leather and must have black stitching to fit properly to the black uniform.
This holster is of the so-called "sight-edge" type meaning that the spare magazine compartment is sewn to the side of the pistol slide. By this the holster is narrow compared the those with the mag under the front flap.
And a pistol can be easier carried concealed, due to the less bulkiness. All stitching is tight and nothing tends to loosen nor needs to be repaired.Holster is of break-away type and the break-away flap is hallmarked by the logo of Akah: Oak leaves and crossed rifles and pistols. Is an abbreviation of D eutsches R eichs G ebrauchs M uster meaning a certain level of intellectual proper rights comparing to a patent but on a lower protection level. Inside the flap a faint but still readable violet ink mark is present: Walther PPk proving that this specific holster was intended to be used with a Walther PPk pistol.
Holster is very solid and not oiled nor has it been treated by modern leather preservatives or shoe cream. Such holsters for the RSHA contract pistols in such a condition are rare. Here you get a nice and authentic piece of history. This is a private sale. But I guarantee you get what you see in the pictures.
