The subject of this review is an interesting collectible specimen of the mens timepiece with an original movement from the association "Union Horlogère" from the German town GLASHUTTE under the trade mark ALPINA. The restored dial is executed in a military style. It features a 60 minute checkered outer track border, easily readable. Colored hands and a sub-seconds dial. The original dial is signed.

The former has been spoilt and therefore replaced by another. The front of the case has. A small corrugating as a coin edge.

The back lid of this watch is encased in transparent material that allows you to see the inner mechanisms of the watch working and to imagine all those parts of the watch in full view. Is in very good shape and operates properly. This watch has an original branded numbered (#177.214) mechanism of 336 Caliber in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch.

The mechanism has a swan neck micrometer for set of the accuracy of the watch. It testify to high level of the mechanism. Diameter watch without the crown.

In spite of the fact that watch has passed the whole war, it is in excellent working condition. Alpina was founded in 1883 by a group of Swiss Watchmakers who joined together to produce high quality Swiss mechanical watches at a reasonable price. A group called themselves affectionately the "Alpinists", and they all shared the same target: the success of the Alpina watch. Different members of the group in Geneva, Germany, Eastern and Northern Europe manufactured various parts of the watch. In 1901 the trade name Alpina was officially registered. The name Alpina refers to the Swiss Alps where the company was located.

From the beginning, Alpina watches were manufactured with high quality components, amongst others Brequet spirals, balance wheels with gold screws and heavy gold cases. In 1909 for participation in the German watch-manufacturing base, Alpina Union Horlogère founded the "Präcisions-Uhrenfabrik Alpina" in Glashütte.

The Union's factories were now located in Geneva, Bienne, Besançon and Glashütte. "Alpina Glashütte" watches gained ground. The First World War had a stifling effect on the "Präcisions-Uhrenfabrik Alpina" in Glashütte. Parts could hardly be send to the factory from Switzerland due to war import restrictions. Besides, there were major capital flow restrictions. In 1922 association "Union Horlogère" was dissolved. The branch, which was in charge of Swiss members, was incorporated in association under the name of "Alpina Association des Horlogers Suisses". The package goes 15-40 days depending on the work of post services. Unfortunately, due to the increase in the volume of Internet commerce, the postal services of some countries began to work very poorly.
