GERMAN MILITARY WATCH WW2 LUFTWAFFE SWISS 1930-40s ORIGINAL HIGH GRADE MOVEMENT

The subject of this review is an interesting collectible specimen of the mens timepiece from the WWII period. The watches were produced under the military order of German Army.

It is a unique military watch of the Luftwaffe. Luftwaffe is a generic German term for an air force. It is also the official name for two of the four historic German air forces, the Wehrmacht air arm founded in 1933 and disbanded in 1946; and the current Bundeswehr air arm founded in 1956. This military watch with a manual wind.

A professionally made new metal dial. That was executed in a military style. It is an early variant of the navigation watch of the Luftwaffe with hour angle indication, featuring a 60 minute checkered outer track border.

Inner line of 1-12 hour numbering. Arabic figures of a military style, and luminescent hands. This model of the watch has a new three-piece case. The back lid of this watch is encased in transparent material that allows you to see the inner mechanisms of the watch working and to imagine all those parts of the watch in full view.

The winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. This mechanical watch has an original SWISS movement. The original movement of this unique mechanical timepiece is HIGH GRADE with Swiss patent. All jewels are held in chatons. The mechanism has a swan neck micrometer for set of the accuracy of the watch.

The jewels in chatons, and swan neck micrometer testify to high level of the mechanism. The original movement with genuine jewels is not signed and has not any markings.

And though the maker of movement is not marked but I think that the collector can identify the maker of this timepiece. Most likely this watch has been made on the small manufactory but didn't be marked by the brand name. The qualitative original movement of this mechanical watch was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Diameter watch without the crown.

Despite the fact that this watch is a lot of years, it is in excellent working condition and well holds time. Military watches are a separate and interesting theme of a collecting.
