A German second war identity disc. 2ww vintage german luftwaffe flying training regt identity disc. # alloy identity disc above and below the snap line reading " 649 A 5/A/FLG AUSB RGT 63 ". Oval disc measuring approx 7cm x 5cm. 5TH Detachment (Abteilung) of the 63rd Pilot Training Regiment. Was set up in Eger on April 1, 1939 and renamed Flieger-Regiment 63 in November 1941. In 1941 it was moved to France. In November 1942, the regiment was relocated to the south of France and deployed in Marseille, Nimes and Montelimar. Some units of the regiment were transferred to the Flieger-Regiment 90.
