This type of blotter was ordered by the Reich Ministry of Post (Reichspostministerium RPM) and was provided to the military postal services. It has a plate with the name of the ministry and the five-digit code of the military unit to which it was intended. During the war, in order to maintain the secrecy of the movement of troops, each battalion received a five-digit identification code called Feldpostnummer and a letter corresponding to the type of troops- L for Luftwaffe, M for Marines.
In the German Post Museum in Berlin, you can check the authenticity of the item as well as the correspondence of the five-digit code, which confirms that this is a military-use item.
