German WW2 M31 canteen Labeflasche- Very Nice Canteen 1940!! The German Army fielded 9 Mountain Division and 6 Waffen SS Mountain Divisions, Generally the mountain Divisions were trained for mountain warfare and were given special equipment like t. Hese Larger fluid capacity bottle used also by Panzer Crew/Medic/Mountain Troops. All in good condition Super nice all correct with matching maker markings ESB 1940 on the Bottle neck and Leather strap on the inside Clearly see ESB 1940. Wool has little to no wear ink stamp to inside cover ESB40, leather is slightly stiff from age, snap buttons typical of the era.

Screw cap still has the red washer inside. Alloy Cup shows little age. Shoulder strap a little dry but perfect also with stamping ESB 40. All over the canteen is close to TEXTBOOK EXAMPLE!!!! Extremely NICE in this condition.

I would say most likely not used. You can see in the last picture the Gebirgsjager Soldier on the eastern front with the same style canteen.
