German WW2 Wehrmacht O/R M43 Panzer cap replica and original Dfh. F headphone set
This listing is for a replica M43 Panzer cap and an original Dfh. F (Doppelfernhorer) headphone set with original plug. The M43 Panzer cap is a highly detailed newly made item, made by the original company ie Robert Lubstein (EREL) of Berlin, the same company who made the original WW2 period items.
The cap is made from 100% black wool, has fold down side flaps held in position by two black painted pebbled metal buttons, replicating an original in every way. A replica high quality metal cap badge is also provided denoting the 116th Panzer Division (Windhund) which took part in the battle of Normandy, forming a safe corridor for the retreating German Army at the infamous Falaise gap. The cap is lined with light grey cotton with replicated black ink manufacturers name and size (58) markings. The radio headset features moulded, circular, black bakelite construction earphones with black painted metal alloy backing plates connected by a magnetic sheet metal headband with a simulated black leather covering.The headband is attached to the earphones by an extended magnetic sheet metal swivel rocker panel which allows for fit adjustment. Both of the metal alloy plates are well marked with an impressed designation Dfh. F indicating Doppelfernhorer (Double telephone receiver) model'f'. And the impressed date'44'.
The remains of a white ink Army acceptance mark is visible on each backing plate. Each earphone has an electrical connection cord with fabric covering fitted to their bottom edges which extend to an original two prong plug. It is not known if the headphones are operational but given their German manufacture it would not surprise if they did! A set of rubber ear pieces are also included in the listing. The headphones would have been used by signals and reconnaissance units , with the the rubber ear pieces being essential in loud mechanical environments.
