For sale is an incomplete but original WWII German Feld Fu F radio, with case. This radio is missing its front cover and a small piece is broken off on the left front side of the case [see picture #7]. It has three tubes: 1xRV2,4P700, 1xRL2,4P2 and 1xRL2,4T1. This radio was used by the Panzer Grenadiers and had a range of 2-3 kms.
It operated on a frequency of 28-33 mHz. It used a 1.2 meter steel blade antenna: the antenna base color was white. The base for the antenna on the radio case was tilted rearward so it would clear the helmet of the soldier carrying the radio. It was powered by a 2.4 volt nickel cadmium battery stored in the back of the radio transport case. This radio has two attachment points for headphones and one for a microphone.
As you can see the Bedienungsteil b [remote control unit b] with leather strap is present, although pretty beat up. The German words Lautstarke [volume] and the abbreviation Empf. Nachstimmung [receiver fine tuning] are clear on the top of the unit.
When in use a cable connected the remote control unit from the front of the soldier to the radio itself. Particulars of the radio are. The US Postal System will classify this item as oversize since two of the dimensions exceed 12 inches, and with protective bubble wrap, foam peanuts and a sturdy box the weight will probably approach 20 lbs.
