Original German Cuff title Africa WK 2 " Ärmelband Afrika ". The cuff Africa was a Wehrmacht award in World War II. It was donated by Adolf Hitler on January 15, 1943. In February 1941, the German Sun Corps (DAK) was formed in Libya with the company Sunflower. The DAK should stabilize the previous African campaign of Italian troops and support them against the British army.
In the period from 1941 to October 1942, the DAK was under General Field Marshal Erwin Rommel large parts of Libya, Tunisia and Egypt take until it was stopped and pushed back from El Alamein. In January 1943, under the pressure of the Allies, the DAK had to evacuate Libya. The last German units in Africa surrendered on May 13, 1943.
