Please refer to the photographs, which hopefully are reasonably self explanatory. The oak leaves measure about 1 9/16 inches (20mm) across , and about the same from top to bottom. The case measures about 4 inches (10cm) x 3 inches (7.6cm) and the top is embossed with the L D O symbol in silver.
The box has a push button catch. The reverse of the oakleaves is concave and stamped " 900 " and " 21 ". The box has wear , but the catch still works well. The oakleaves are in very good condition.
It is of very good quality , and I believe that it may be a genuine example of the silver oakleaves to the knights cross medal. However, one dealer I showed it to suggested that whilst WW11 related, it may be a 1957 issue. If anyone can help in identifying the oakleaves, then I will post any relevant information. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SHORT PIECE OF IRON CROSS RIBBON IS MODERN, AND JUST THERE FOR SHOW. THERE ARE NO BANNED SYMBOLS ON THIS ITEM.
