An original WW2 CAPTURED GERMAN ARMY map entitled "BAHIG", a settlement on the vital coastal road and rail routes between EL ALAMEIN and ALEXANDRIA. In great condition, as per images provided.
Following its capture, it was ink stamped by the United States "Army Mapping Service" (AMS) with two serial numbers, suggesting that it was probably captured elsewhere at a later stage, perhaps in Germany in 1945. As with many excess Allied and captured enemy maps, at the end of the War it was donated to a public institution as an educational resource. This specific example was recently auctioned off by a prominent American University, although thankfully it was never additionally stamped by their own archivists. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, photos, manuals, documents, kit etc.
