Original WW2 German splinter camo helmet cover Ardennes Battle of The Bulge. This came from Belgium among other items from a private collection. Believed to have been in Ardennes offensive. Helmet covers were often field made as you can see in three field photos.
No loops like factory made covers. Supplies were short in last years of war and troops had to make do and improvise. So worn zeltbans got cut up to become helmet camouflage, bags and clothing. There is a small area of wear please see photo and one small stitched repair but otherwise complete and good condition.Genuine piece of history and getting hard to find. Lots of reproductions available but this is original item 1944. This item is in the category "Collectables\Militaria\World War II (1939-1945)\Field Gear".
