Original WW2 German Tropical M31 Canteen Dated 1942

This is a nice looking tropical M31 canteen complete with its original felt cover and strap. I picked this up around the Arras area on a recent trip, so it has certainly seen some action, most likely the retreat from France in'44. This particular example is maker marked VDN and dated to 42. The felt cover is in lovely condition, with no mothing at all. It is unfortunately missing the back brace strap, but does not take away from how well it displays.

This canteen and its separate parts are certainly homogenous, to the extent that the last felt cover button can't be undone, or at least I haven't forced it! This is a lovely looking piece that would look amazing in any display, just needing a few missing pieces and priced accordingly The box is not included in the sale Feel free to ask questions.
