This Kriegsmarine coat has silver anchor buttons, which from my research, indicates it belonged to a line officer. Deck personnel also wore these, but I believe theirs had plain black buttons.
It has all the original buttons, one is unbuttoned in the photo. The leather is in good shape, considering it's age and time period.
There is a small hole on the back, left shoulder, as shown in photographs. The leather definitely shows age but is in good shape overall. But please thoroughly inspect the photos and if you need more specific close ups, please let me know. Compared to the few others I found for sale, it is in very good shape! It is lined with a dark green wool liner which may be a repro, as it's in amazingly good shape. It is the highly sought after, rare three quarter length, double-breasted reefer style coat. It is closed by 4 buttons and a 5th to tighten the collar in bad weather. It has 2 internal skirt pockets with external flaps and two slanted slash pockets at lower-chest level, plain cuffs and a horizontal seam at the chest level. It also has shoulder straps. If you'd like to see more photos or item specifics, please ask. I would also greatly appreciate it if any experts out there can tell me more about this. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 19.
