This listing is for a rare WW2 German Luftwaffe pilot's chronograph made by Hanhart in the 1930s or 1940s. The face of the watch is marked "Hanhart 17 Steine" meaning 17 jewels. Inside on the movement it is numbered "3146".
The case of this watch is roughly 40mm wide, not including the crown. The back of the watch appears to have been replaced at some point. When my jeweler opened up the watch so we could take pictures of the movement he noted markings inside the back of the case indicating that the watch was serviced in the late 1950s.
The watch currently works when wound and has kept good time in a 30 minute test. Everything appears to work as it should with the stop watch function as well except when the thin hand resets it resets about 2 seconds behind the 12 spot and not right on the 12. This is in vintage condition with some wear from age, use, and storage. Pictures make the best description.
