An absolutely pristine example of an ex-stores, black-painted World War Two. Original leather neck protector still in place.
This stunningly attractive-looking helmet has more of the visually attractive. And perhaps because it was produced by the above company, the shape is more combat looking? (Indeed the markings on the inner side flange are VDNS 64 and in the rear flange B9). The light-tan pig-skin liner, white liner cord & tan leather inner crown protector are superb. As is the civilian services-style of chinstrap...
And the black-stamped size marking is 56. The mint black leather protector, held in place by 4 leather lugs, is in equally pristine condition. With just the usual storage marks & folds/dimples you would expect to see after 72 years. (and the 4 liner pins/lugs are ultra-tight).
Evincing the fact that this helmet has been in careful, dry, storage since 1945. The outer & inner paint finish is a superb black, with an almost satin look & feel. And there are just a few very tiny marks to the outer, but overall. A stunning, complete, ex-stores example of this particular style of.
