WW2 German Carl Zeiss 12 x 60 Flak Binocular & tripod possibly Naval origins

WW2 German Carl Zeiss (blc) mark 12 x 60 Binoculars. On a Tripod possibly Naval origins. Carl Zeiss: a pair of wartime German 12x60 binoculars, aluminium case, hinged face rest, independently adjustable incident lenses, objective lenses covered with a fold-down sun hood incorporating moveable internal baffles; complete with a tripod with brass pedestal supported on adjustable aluminium mounted wooden legs. The optics are clean and bright and there are several rotatable filters.

The mark on the shield on the top of the binoculars says. The wartime supplier code for Carl Zeiss Jena. A fantastic set to place by the window over looking the sea or a river vista.

Entirely useable, but not perfect. The aluminium case is a bit worn and the parts that form hoods over the objective lenses are a bit bent. With a small split on one side. Also a small 8mm split to frame around the padded eye rests on one side. These do not affect the use or appearance of the item. See the two pictures showing these issues. These binoculars date from at least the early 1940s. (as indicated by the'blc' code on them rather than the Carl Zeiss mark).

So they have done well to look this good 80 years or more later. A little damage to front edge - as photographed. Because of its age and fragility this cannot be insured in transit it will be well packed and protected and sent via UPS. Enquiries welcome to quote more accurately on request.
