You are looking at my original WW2 German M35 Army Possibly Luftwaffe Helmet. The Helmet is in original condition, To me the paintwork looks original.
It is Luftwaffe blue, and where the paint has scratched, it is apple green underneath. The helmet started life as a double decal helmet, the left hand shield has been scratched off, and evidence of this is under the blue paint. No sign of any decal on the right hand side. The helmet is stamped Q62 for the Quist Factory with the skirt number 4588, it also has an ink stamp 707 close to the skirt number. Not seen this before but must be significant for something. The helmet is complete with a liner, which is the correct aluminium banded liner, and is a superbly tight fit. The leather is still supple, but split in places, and is quite dirty..
I have no idea if the liner started life with the helmet but it is the correct type I believe for the age of the helmet. The chinstrap is an aluminium buckle version, and has a Rbn number present. When re-fitting the helmet liner, one of the pins was broken off the rear helmet split pin, so that is now loose, and the only other thing to point out, is the helmet has two small areas of damage to the left side, looking like to little dents, which have been previously touched up. Please study all the accompanying pictures as they form part of the description of the helmet. If you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Alternatively, you can collect the helmet from me in the North West close to Jcn 22 M6. If you want a bargain, then look for a dug up relic, rather than this example.
