WW2 German M40 Helmet Relic Courland Pocket Kurland Uncleaned Dug Find #142

Original WW2 German M40 steel helmet relic, found in the Courland Pocket area. The helmet is heavily covered with rust and soil deposits. It has not been cleaned, restored or treated, and has been left in the same condition as found. The shell still keeps its M40 shape well, with heavy battlefield aging, corrosion, pitting and thick surface deposits.

No visible holes can be seen. This is a good project piece for WW2 relic collectors who prefer untouched dug finds and want to clean or preserve the helmet themselves. There may be original paint under the rust and soil deposits, and possibly remains of decal areas, but nothing is guaranteed because the helmet has not been cleaned. Please study all photos carefully.
