Ww2 German Original Luftwaffe Officers Leather Greatcoat
WORLD WAR TWO LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS ICONIC BLUE/ GREY LEATHER GREAT COAT. Please note: This sale is for the "GREATCOAT ONLY", The visor cap and shoulder boards are NOT for sale and do not come with the Greatcoat. I have added a picture to give you an idea of what visor cap and shoulder boards were worn with the item. I have also posted picture examples of this type of greatcoat being worn back in the day. This is a 100% original world war two luftwaffe officers leather greatcoat, in the typical colour of the luftwaffe.
It came into my possession in a complete set and was once the property of a luftwaffe medical officer candidate. It has the loops to add shoulder boards and also the dagger hanger on the inside with the gap through the left hand pocket to thread the dagger hanger through. The left hand cuff only is designed to be used as a pocket and ¨zie papers¨ or maps could be placed in the cuff with the right hand, for convenience. The greatcoat is in fine condition for its age, with all the original buttons.
It displays very well on a tailor's dummy (also not included). There are no maker marks or sizes on the jacket. Since taking the pictures of the greatcoat i have cleaned and restored the leather. It certainly has improved the overall condition of the leather and also brought out the colour.
