WW2 Original German Air Force Winter Wool Lined Flight Suit

Original WW2 German Air Force Winter Flight Suit for Flying over Land (Luftwaffe Winterfliegerkombi für Flüge über Land). Heavy Combination of original gray-blue velveteen with dark sheepskin wool fur collar and inside light tight weave sheepskin wool fur lining. This label has been overstamped in purple ink with. Perhaps an L or an I.

I do not know what this overstamping means. Has also been stamped in black under the button flap, between buttons with. These very heavy, but also very warm suits were originally intended for the crews of biplanes. They were too large to be worn in the the narrow fighters, but were used extensively by the crews of large aircraft on long-haul flights over Scandinavia, Russia and the North Atlantic until the end of the war.

They were very popular - they kept warm for hours, even when the heating failed. A Very nice flight suit that is complete and in Very Good Used condition. There is a period repair on one leg. I do not know the size, but it is not small. Would fit on a standard mannequin.
