After a four-year apprenticeship as an optician and mechanic, Moritz Hensoldt met Carl Kellner at the Repsold company in Hamburg on the usual wanderings at the time. In 1928 the Carl Zeiss Foundation took over a majority stake. The company and product name "Hensoldt" was retained until 2006.
Then the Hensoldt AG Zeiss Group became Carl Zeiss Sport Optics GmbH, a subsidiary of Carl Zeiss AG. Eyepiece tube Diameter: 39 mm. Lenghth: 28.5cm= 11 in.
