WWII original m35 German infantry camouflaged combat helmet stahlhelm casco elmo
Came from an outstanding private collection and never listed before. Complete example with liner and chinstrap. Surface of shell with original paint in very dark green colour. Helmet has survived in 60-70% thin layer of camouflage patches in tan/brown typical for ETO (Normandy or Italy campaign). The perfection of this survived parts of camouflage is optimized by the deliberately applied outlines of the small mesh netting not survived presently. Mesh size is approx 1x1 inch that confirm of used captured British/American net. Some chips and scratches of paint layer on the shell top and on the edges.
Top of the shell is little broken and mostly out of paint. On the front welded edge, metal is little broken. Original leather liner is elastic and intact with drawstring. Inner alloy ring coated by fine grain alu-corrosion layer. It is first pattern alloy ring with factory-made fasteners on the both sides.
Chinstrap bales are rectangular and alloy made. One fixing element of chinstrap bale is broken.
Ring fixed with complete rivets. Markings on the shell: ET66 not often to seen and 4390 indicated early war produced shell. Chinstrap is elastic, not shortened, has visible producer stamp (Larsen Berlin 1938).Omplete combat helmet and very scarce to find. Good addition to any serious collection.
