Awesome uniform grouping from the very early years of West Germany. The Bundes-Luftwaffe was established in late 1956.
This tunic belonged to a 1st Lt. And has bullion embroidered officer cuff titles machine stitched on. Nice early bullion officer wing over breast pocket. Nice original 1957 medal ribbon bar with IC 2nd, War Merit Cross 2nd, Black Wound badge and Russian front medal ribbons. Early barrel cuffs reminiscent of WWII. Silver piped around visor hat, shoulder boards and machine stitched collar tabs. Also comes with a German Cross in Gold 1957 version (copy). The visor hat and tunic are both contract made for the Bundeswehr early 1960's (KKB stands for Kleiderkasse fuer die Bundeswehr, made in Koblenz, Germany). Hat matches perfectly with the tunic, hat size 57 1/2 (about a 7 1/4 US). Pilot likely flew the early F-86 Canadair Sabre and F-4 Phantoms. Maybe flew with the new Richthofen squadron established in 1961.
