An extremely rare large original vintage early post-war Dutch language travel poster for Bastogne; as commissioned by the SNCB Belgian State Railways. A lovely, bright and colourful illustration of a snow covered scene - with a prominent Panzer tank abandoned on the edge of a village. Quite a remarkable image and piece of commercial advertising to have been produced in 1947 - still so soon after the conflict - and testament to how much German kit there must have been laying around within the Ardennes area at that time! A railway route map is depicted below of the wider area surrounding Bastogne; with Anvers Ostende, Brussels, Namur, Liege, Cologne, Paris and Luxembourg all included.
Size: 100 x 62 cm. A truly wonderful Ardennes area related display piece that would make for a very unique and striking backdrop to any collection of the same theme!
